The holiday season is fast approaching. Join us for the traditional attraction of city lights, caroling and festive decorations with a special hour-long television presentation of “Emme’s Christmas Island Moments.” Filmed on location at the beautiful Honolulu City Lights Celebration at Honolulu Hale, experience a colorful extravaganza of “Hawaiian style” holiday displays accompanied by holiday musical favorites.

Among Emme’s musical guests are Na Hoku Hanohano awardee and Grammy nominee Raiatea Helm, and a hula performance by Halau Hula Ka No`eau, under the direction of Kumu Hula Michael Pili Pang, the City’s Executive Director of the Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts.

Special guest appearances include Mayor Mufi Hanneman, Christmas greetings from Hawaii National Guard military personnel and a special tribute to President-elect Barack Obama.

Once again we open our archives to offer magical “moments” of Christmas Past; with delightful guests, talented island entertainers and the nostalgic seasonal music of yesteryear featuring Jimmy Borges, Na Leo, Martin Nievera, Reign, Ho`okena, the late Aunty Genoa Keawe, Willie K and more.

Always a highlight of our Christmas special, this year’s presentation promises to be extra wonderful. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Christmas holiday season with Hawaii’s best. We will also be ready to launch “Emme’s Island Moments 15th Anniversary” in 2009.

Emme’s Christmas Island Moments is presented by: Hawaiian Electric Company and Stanford Carr Development; Co-Sponsored by: Bank of Hawaii and Oceanic Time Warner Cable; and with support from: City Mill, Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Nordstrom and Your Toyota Hawaii Dealers
