BANK OF HAWAII PROUDLY PRESENTS…

“Emme’s Classic Island Moments”
‘On the Road to San Francisco’
Airdate: April 25th at 6pm on KFVE - Your Home!

Just about the time Hawaiian Airlines was opening up its routes to the mainland, Emme’s Island Moments was beginning to look for ‘island moments’ outside of Hawaii. So, a search for island transplants began and it started with the ‘City by the Bay’ – San Francisco.

•In 1995, Emme’s Island Moments took the show on the road with Hawaiian Airlines and Hawaiian VIP Tours. 80 very special travelers joined the tour.

•The tour group enjoyed sightseeing, shopping, food, dining and entertainment in San Francisco.

•Rick Enos’ Compadres Bar & Grill was the site of the first gathering of the tour group joined by San Francisco transplants—the result was the first island style party in the ‘City by the Bay.’

•The group attended HAPA’s first concert on the mainland at De Anza College in Cupertino.

•Along the way, Emme’s Island Moments caught up with local personalities who were doing news and local magazine shows on San Francisco airwaves: Jan Yanehiro, Roberta Wong, Emerald Yeh, Larry Beil, Rick Quan, just to name a few.

EMME Inc. organized the first Hawaii unit in the San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade, which included a float decorated by Emme’s tour group, dancers from Tihati Productions, Parade Marshals, San Francisco 49ner Jesse Sapolu, actress Elizabeth Lindsey and Hawaii’s first Federal Judge of Chinese ancestry and Honorary Parade Marshal Harold Fong.
