A proud graduate of Farrington High School, she went on to Leeward Community College to obtain her Liberal Arts Degree and then to the University of Hawaii at Manoa for her Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education. Twelve years ago, Emme launched her own video and production company, Emme Tomimbang Multi-Media Enterprises Inc. or simply, EMME, Inc. She hosts and produces an one-hour television magazine series, “Emme’s Island Moments,” which features island people and aspects of island life on KHON 2. Segments of “Emme’s Island Moments” can also be seen on inflight programming on Hawaiian Airlines and Continental Airlines.
Her awards include a 2004 Filipinas Magazine National Communications Award, 2003 Hawaii Filipino Woman of the Year, 2002 Toastmasters Media Award. Her special on 9/11 “Hawaii To New York: The Aloha Spirit Lives,” was selected to be part of the Hawaii International Film Festival. In 2000, she received the Hawaii Women Lawyers President’s Award, a 1997 Telly Award, and a 1984 KITV Iris Award.

Our outstanding production crew conducted research; collected, organized and scanned photogaphs; transcribed a lot of interviews and logged footage; labeled and kept track of tapes, collected b-roll; and helped out during editing sessions. They also sold T-shirts, created flyers, and kept EMME, Inc. running.
"Working on Mabuhay With Aloha: The Hawaii-Filipino Experience, 1906-2006 has been a wonderful experience for me," says Chanel Reeve. "It is an honor to have been part of something so monumental that has touched so many people in a positive way. Along the way, I learned a lot of interesting things that I hadn't known before about the history of Filipinos in Hawaii. This project has been a whirlwind for us at EMME, Inc. and I'm thankful for all who helped us complete it and so proud of everyone's hard work and dedication." |
